Public work and private account information
Your published profile, name, claims, attestations, forks, sources, timestamps and revision history are public. Anyone may read them, and third parties may link to or copy public pages. Do not include confidential information or someone else's private details.
Your login email, authentication records and sessions, invitation status, support messages and moderation records are not part of your public profile. You supply account and profile details directly. We may record your name and email in the invitation list from existing professional contact details or information you give us.
Why information is used
We use account details and your contributions to provide the publishing service you request under the terms. We use invitation records, security information, reports and limited activity measurement for our legitimate interests in running a secure, manageable service and understanding whether it is useful. You can contact us to object to that use or discuss your circumstances. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Sessions and activity measurement
Sign-in uses necessary authentication cookies. Our own activity records contain an account identifier, event type and timestamp, with a contribution identifier for publishing or revision events. For verified invited users, we record at most one signed-in visit per London calendar day to measure return use. These custom records do not include visited page URLs, IP addresses or device details. Anonymous visits are not counted in this measure.
There are no advertising trackers. Hosting and authentication services still process technical information needed to deliver and secure the service; their logs may include request URLs, IP addresses and browser details. These are separate from our activity measures.
Service providers
Vercel hosts the application. Neon provides the database and authentication. They process service data on our behalf. Messages you send to us also pass through email services. Provider processing may take place outside the UK; their processing terms describe their safeguards and service-provider arrangements: Vercel and Neon. Contact us for the deployment settings that apply to your data.
No AI provider is currently connected. The application does not send contributions to an AI service for analysis. We will update this notice and explain any such processing before enabling it. External links lead to sites with their own privacy practices.
Retention and removal
Public contributions and their revisions remain while published. Account and invitation records support access to Seconders. Identifiable activity records are kept for the initial usage study and its assessment, then deleted or reduced to anonymous totals when no longer needed. Reports and moderation records are kept only as needed to resolve the issue, explain a decision or address a continuing abuse or legal concern.
You can ask us to remove a contribution, close your account or delete private information. Removing a contribution redacts its content from every stored revision in the active service. A minimal link placeholder may remain. Other authors' contributions are reviewed separately. Backups and provider logs expire under their configured retention settings, so removal does not instantly erase every backup. If a backup is restored, applicable removals must be reapplied.
Your choices and concerns
Email us to request access, a copy, correction or deletion of your information, or to ask about restricting or objecting to its use. We may need to confirm that a request relates to you. We will explain what we can do and any information that must be retained. You can also raise a data protection concern with the ICO.
